308 (Krakowski) Squadron RAF
308 (Krakowski) Squadron RAF was formed 9 September 1940, at the RAF Polish Depot, Blackpool. The squadron received Hurricanes and became operational on 12 December 1940.

In April 1941, it converted to Spitfires and moved to RAF Northolt to escort bomber missions over France. In September 1943, No. 308 began fighter-bomber missions in preparation for the invasion of France.

In August 1944 it moved to Normandy and then to Belgium. After a period with the occupation forces, it disbanded on 18 December 1946.
